This is the famous Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Maharashtra. Controversial because some feel Shirdi Sai Baba’s murti doesn’t belong in traditional Hindu temples. The threat said temple would be blown up November 9th.

Odisha State Law Commission wants govt to ban women dressed in shirts, pants or jeans. Males can wear pants and shirts. Why the double standard? Why is it OK for men to dress Western but not women?
They want pilgrims in “Hindu clothes” which according to them are dhoti, kurta & pyjama, sari, shalwar kameez.
Reality check – Jains, Buddhists & Sikhs also wear sari & dhoti. Kurta pyjama and shalwar kameez along with lenga are Muslim clothes.

Right now the court is hearing the case on whether women should be allowed into Sabarimala Temple. It’s for Ayyappa who’s a celibate deity – only men and non-childbearing women allowed inside. A petitioner dragged Kamakhya Temple into the argument saying they object to animal sacrifices & occult practices at Kamakhya!

The Uttarakhand minister’s son was set to be married on a tiger reserve located on the Sureshwari Devi temple land. There’s tigers, elephants, leopards & all sorts of animals on the land. The forest dept not notified. Case filed against temple for allowing it.
The temple put the animals in danger because if an animal were to attack the wedding party – it would surely be shot! That would be an unnecessary death because of a gathering that’s not suppose to be there to begin with. The wedding belongs inside the temple, not outside. Furthermore, allowing the wedding outside shows PARTIALITY to the rich and powerful. All devotees should be treated equally.

During renovations at the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Telengana, 72 murtis of different devatas (Garuda, alwars etc) had the spirit of the devatas removed from the stone and transferred into kalashas. Done via ritual. The murtis then becomes inert and can be stored. After renovations, the spirit of God and the other devatas is transferred from the kalashas back into the murtis via a Prana Pratishta ritual.
