An American woman who practices Hinduism, filed suit after being denied entry into Sri Arulmighu Abishta Varatharajaperumal Temple in Thanjavur district.
Right now, only Indian born Hindus are considered “Hindus” and allowed entry into the inner part of the temple. It’s a racist rule made up by man – not God.
The Madras High Court ruled that an American citizen can’t be denied Hindu status on the basis of her name & nationality. They further ruled that she would be entitled to the same temple rights as any other Hindu woman.
