Backstory – There was a petition asking for the reconstruction & consecration of a 7 foot tall murti of Lord Vishnu at the Javari Temple in MP. It’s a UNESCO site. The Dalit Buddhist judge, B.R. Gavai refused. When the petitioner kept insisting, the Dalit judge said,
“Go and ask the deity itself to do something now. You say you are a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu. So go and pray now.” Days later, a lawyer named Rakesh Kishore, threw a shoe at Judge BR Gavai.

Judge BR Gavai is an Ambedkar Buddhist. They’re Dalit converts to Navayana Buddhism created by BR Ambedkar. They take 22 vows and the first of those 22 vows is, “I shall have no faith nor worship Brahma, Vishnu or Shiva”. So Judge BR Gavai is someone who has taken vows against Lord Vishnu – yet he sits in judgement of Vishnu’s temple!?!
