“Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, alias Partha Sarathy, director of the reputed Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management located in Delhi’s upscale Vasant Kunj area, has been accused of sexually harassing multiple women students and is currently absconding, police confirmed on Wednesday.”

The federal investigation has now been closed after 4 years but the civil suit for monetary damages can now begin. Dalits from India claimed they were recruited by BAPS to come to the US. Their passports were confiscated, they were forced to cut stone and work for long hours for only $1.20 (illegal in America). They were secluded and not allowed to talk to guests at the temple.

“An amended complaint filed later that year added more plaintiffs and extended the allegations to BAPS affiliates in several other states, including Georgia, Illinois, Texas and California. The claims raised questions not only about wages and working conditions, but also about caste discrimination and whether BAPS misused R-1 religious worker visas to bring laborers to the United States.”
